Easy Going with Some Complexity

£79.50 WAS £88.33

An amazing case containing 6 bottles of “Easy Going”  wines, ideal for all types of meals or for quieter moments settled in front of the TV, listening to music or reading a good book.  All the wines have been specially selected for you from Tuscany, Piedmont, Campania, Emila-Romagna and the Marche regions and provide great quality at a very affordable price.

Each case contains one of each of the following wines:

Whites:

Campi di Fratta Romagna Pagadebit DOC 2019: The Pagadebit variety is native to the Bertinoro area (Emilia-Romagna region). The name means “pays the debts”, a reference to its ability to produce reliably large crops, even in bad vintages. The 2019 is subtle and elegant, with notes of white flowers, a marked mineral character and a final salty hint, and would be a perfect match for shellfish.

Aurai Offida Pecorino DOCG 2017: a full-bodied, organic white wine from the Marche. Pecorino is a native grape, rediscovered 30 years ago and now enjoying a comeback. Aromas of fresh flowers and fruits, with citrus, ripe peach, cedar, grapefruit and lime peel. Strong but with great balance between freshness, flavour and mellowness, this wine works well with pasta, tuna steak, roasted fish, white meat and vegetable dishes.

Reds:

Uva Rara Colline Novaresi DOC 2017: this wine is unusual in being 100% Uva Rara, showing all the delicacy and elegance you would expect. Easy to drink at any time of year, it goes well with a wide range of food.

Jacopvs Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2015: made from 100% of Sangiovese Grosso, known as “Brunello” around Montalcino, aromas of cherries, blackcurrants and spice, well-structured, with soft fresh fruit flavours and floral notes; balanced acidity, solid grip of tannin and good length, goes well with pasta, pizza, red meat and medium-aged cheeses.

Aglianico del Taburno DOCG 2015: considered one of Italy’s (possibly the world’s) greatest red grape varieties, Aglianico probably pre-dates the Roman Empire. The wine is elegant and complex with flavours of wild berries, black pepper and tobacco, and balsamic notes. A perfect match for beef, wild boar sausages, full-flavoured vegetarian dishes.

Thalia Marche Rosso IGT 2016: organic wine from the Marche, made from an innovative blend of native Montepulciano and international grape varieties. Aromas of fruits, flowers and spices with black pepper; rounded on the palate with good structure, mellow tannins, and a long finish. A good accompaniment to white and red meats or vegetarian dishes.
