If you love wine but it makes you sneeze, wheeze or develop a headache, even in small quantities, this wine set is for you.
We have two low-histamine wines: a Chardonnay and a red, Barbera d’Alba. Both have a short, controlled-temperature fermentation, followed by ageing in stainless steel and bottle, to discourage the formation of histamines.
We also offer a red wine made without added sulfur. Some sulfites are naturally produced during fermentation, and extra sulfur dioxide is normally added to wine to prevent it oxidising: making wine without sulfites requires great skill and care. Zero Rosso Conero has 3% sulfites, a level generally considered undetectable.

White:
Chardonnay Low Histamine 2016: The Chardonnay grapes are grown in cool, south-east facing vineyards and picked early to maintain their freshness and fruit character. An intense nose with aromas of flowers and lemon, apple and pear is followed by a dry, delicate and elegant palate. The wine pairs well with sushi, grilled seafood, vegetarian dishes, pasta and pizza.
Red:
Barbera d’Alba Low Histamine 2017: Made from pure Barbera grapes grown in south-west facing vineyards and harvested late in September. The nose has scents of red and black cherries and plum, and the palate is dry with pleasant acidity. A good match for red meat, vegetarian dishes, pasta, pizza and risotto.
Zero Rosso Conero DOC 2018: Made without added sulfur, these wines are ideal for people who suffer from sulfur-related headaches or breathing problems such as asthma. Young and zesty, with a deep purple colour, this is a wine to enjoy now. The nose is fragrant with pure grape aromas and the palate is fresh and fruity, with a clean finish. It goes well with pasta, pizza, vegetarian dishes, risotto, white meat and medium-aged cheeses.
