Piedmont in Your Glass


Savour a little piece of Italy in your glass this festive season. A case of 6 bottles specially selected to give you a flavour of wines from Piedmont with the Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo varieties. Quality drinking and the perfect accompaniments to your seasonal dining choices.

Each case contains one of each of the following wines:


Nascetta Langhe DOC 2017 Poderi Cellario: the Nascetta grape is an ancient variety from Langhe hills, grown on iron-rich sandy clay-loam soil using eco-friendly cultivation techniques. It is a wine of tropical character with a nutty jasmine perfume and savoury palate. It goes well with vegetarian dishes, spaghetti, risotto, seafood, white meat, light and medium-aged cheese.

 Arneis Hortensia Langhe DOC 2017: Arneis grapes are treated gently at every stage of production to preserve their quality and character. The wine is left on the lees for 2-3 months; every week it is pumped over several times, so that the natural yeasts release more aromas. Intense nose of white flowers and citrus fruit, fruity on the palate with typical almond-kernel bitterness on the finish, supported by pleasant mineral notes. A good accompaniment to vegetarian dishes, pasta, risotto, fish, white meat and light or medium-aged cheeses.


Dogliani DOCG Superiore 2016: made from the best Dolcetto grapes from the oldest vineyard. An intense ruby red wine with a chunky, dense, toasty aroma of dark, sweet black fruit and black pepper. The young and powerful palate is full, rich and robust, with violet, lavender and black pepper flavours, a big structure and a classic finish. Best served with meat dishes, cheesy pasta, gnocchi with red wine sauce or white truffle risotto.

Augusta Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG: Augusta comes from Barbera grapes, it is aged in big oak barrels for about 18 months, followed by 4 -6 months in bottle. A full-bodied, intense and deep ruby red wine with ripe red and black cherry, prunes and a hint of spice, it goes well with pasta, pizza, vegetarian and meat dishes and medium-aged cheeses.

Ghemme DOCG: produced from the Nebbiolo grape, garnet red in colour with ripe dark fruit, crushed violet flavour, a touch of exotic spice and a balsamic note. A modern, polished wine, big in style, with powerful tannins supporting mature black cherry, dried tobacco and liquorice. Goes well with beef, lamb, veal, rabbit, game and pasta with truffle.

Barolo DOCG 2014: This wine is the result of a selection of the best grapes from a vineyard located in Bussia Soprana between Monforte d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto, one of the best areas for Barolo. 2014 was a great vintage and this wine will continue to develop and improve for many years. Intense and clear with scents of pinks and violets, followed by hints of cherry and cooked plum, undergrowth, vanilla and pepper. A dry, full, robust wine that is surprisingly velvety and goes well with game, meat, truffles and cheeses.
