Dorico has been the first wine in Marche region to receive the most important Italian award ‘Tre Bicchieri’ from Gambero Rosso with the vintage 1988.
In 2014, it has been selected as one of the 30 wines which contributed to the history of Italian Enology. This wine is made by a very careful selection of the best grapes that are left on the vines for 2 extra weeks to get even riper.

Grape varieties: 100% Montepulciano
Vineyard: 4 ha facing south-east, planted in 1968
Vinification: The grapes are harvested in October and cold macerated for 3-5 days, until fermentation starts using natural yeasts, then gently pressed after 20 days maceration on the skins with daily pumping-over. The malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel.
Ageing: 30 months: 20% in new tonneaux and 80% in 2-3 year-old barriques, followed by 12 months in bottle.
Alcohol content: 14.5% abv
Appearance: Intense, deep ruby colour with purple reflections.
Nose: Complex on the nose, with aromas of dried black cherry, spices, leather, smoke, dark chocolate and truffle.
Palate: Big, complex and long-lasting on the palate with some intense dried fruit character, mineral and earthy notes, accompanied by softness, freshness and perfect tannins.
Food pairing: Ideal with red meats and stews, matured cheeses.
