Piedirosso Sannio DOP 2019

This is the second most-planted native grape variety in Campania, after Aglianico, and probably dates back to Roman times. Piedirosso means red foot and refers to the red stalks of the bunches. The grapes are naturally light in colour.

Soil: Argillaceous with lime-rich marlstone outcrops

Vinification: Maceration on the skins at controlled temperatures, c. 10 days’ fermentation

ORGANOLEPTIC PROFILE:

Appearance: purple-red

Nose: fragrant, floral, red fruits.

Palate: pleasant, soft with bright acidity, red fruit and herbal notes.

Food pairing: light meats and charcuterie, grilled or roast lamb, vegetarian dishes

Serving temperature: 16 -18˚ C
