Uva Rara means “rare grape”, an ironic reference to the fact that it does not produce many grapes. It is a native variety, also known as Bonarda, and, thanks to its suppleness, was traditionally used to soften wines made from the more tannic Nebbiolo.
This wine is unusual in being 100% Uva Rara, showing all the delicacy and elegance you would expect. Easy to drink at any time of year, it goes well with a wide range of food.
